Join your fellow parishioners to worship, grow & socialise
Every second Saturday, men from the parish gather at 7am for a hearty barbecue breakfast at the Parish Hall. This provides an ideal opportunity to get to know one another better in a social atmosphere and to take part in a short Bible Study. Adult men of all ages are welcome.
These events are held four times a year on Saturday mornings at a range of cafe venues around Hervey Bay. Guest speakers are invited to address the gathering, generally on subjects of particular interest to Christian women of all ages.
The breakfasts provide the perfect opportunity to meet socially while learning valuable information on a host of stimulating subjects.
For those keen to deepen their life of prayer and learn the ancient Christian practice of meditation, a group gathers each Tuesday morning in St John’s Church at 8.30am. By using the resources developed by the World Community for Christian Meditation, participants support one another in developing a love for the practice of contemplative prayer.
CURSILLO (a Spanish for Short Course) is a worldwide movement within many Christian churches. Cursillo is a method that helps us to consciously live in God’s grace and to bring into our daily lives, the feeling of community we can share as Christians. A 3 day Cursillo weekend is the way to join the movement, and these are held annually.
